Changing Lives Through Learning

Queen Elizabeth Grammar School

Founded in 1564 by Royal Charter, our school has been helping young people to secure outstanding academic results and providing a well-rounded experience for over 450 years. The school encourages students to take responsibility for their learning from the moment they join, ensuring they are well prepared for the challenges they face on their journey at QEGS. We are a growing school with 1040 students currently on roll, but remain sufficiently small to recognise individual talents and ensure everyone is challenged and supported to reach their goals.

David Marchant - Headteacher

Our vision is to succeed in ‘Changing Lives through Learning’ by providing the very best possible educational opportunities for young people. At our heart our core principles of respect for the individual, the encouragement of involvement within school and the wider community and the development of initiative to provide students with confidence and curiosity are promoted through all areas of QEGS life.

In our final week of term, we enjoyed a wonderful Lunchtime Concert featuring five performances, including two superb violin performances from Matthew — a young musician with an exciting future ahead.
This concert was particularly special as it marked the final Lunchtime Concert hosted by Jonty (Y13). Jonty founded the Lunchtime Concert series back in Year 9, with the aim of encouraging younger musicians to perform and giving them a supportive platform to share their music. Since then, he has hosted five concerts every year, consistently championing and inspiring countless budding performers.
To mark his final concert, Jonty returned to the stage himself, performing two beautiful pieces on the saxophone — a fitting and memorable way to bring his journey full circle.
As Jonty moves on to university and pastures new, we are delighted that Theo (Y12) will take over hosting duties. We now look ahead to our final concert in June, showcasing our talented Year 7 and 8 musicians, and marking Theo’s debut as host 🎷🎻

🌟 Celebrating QEGS Student Success 🌟
We are delighted to recognise an exceptional sporting achievement by one of our QEGS students. Harish in Year 7 has qualified for the Regional Finals of the Faldo Futures and the PING Masters Qualifier, an outstanding accomplishment at such a young age. Adding to this success, he is also the 2024 PING Junior Masters Champion. This is a fantastic achievement and a brilliant example of the talent, commitment, and determination of our QEGS students.
We wish you continued success and the very best of luck as you progress 👏⛳
